    BP has launched a new series of ads designed to promote tourism along the Gulf Coast. The ads feature spokespersons from the Gulf who represent their communities as small business owners, community leaders and “tourism ambassadors.” As part of its overall commitment, BP also has given $170 million in grants to help revitalize tourism on the Gulf Coast economy.     Chef Jim Smith of Alabama was crowned King of American Seafood at the Great American Seafood Cook-Off. Smith, executive chef of the Alabama Governor's Mansion, earned the crown with his dish "Late Summer Alabama Bounty," which highlighted Gulf of Mexico shrimp and crabs.     As part of ongoing maintenance and monitoring, BP will have specially-trained reconnaissance teams patrolling the shoreline looking for any signs of submerged residue balls, and if found, locally-based response teams and equipment will be deployed to clean the area.     Robin Bullock, Director, BP Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA), provides an overview of BP’s ground-breaking agreement with federal and state agencies that will accelerate work to restore areas of the Gulf of Mexico that were affected by the Deepwater Horizon accident.
